Alpina Ski Helmets - Downhill K

The Downhill K is a custom made helmet which has a very smooth surface making it just that little bit more aerodynamic. It is spherically shaped and designed for all high speed disciplines such as Super G and Giant Slalom. It features high strength and shock absorption combined with optimum protection from cold.

The helmet comes complete with a mounting point for a Chin Guard.

The new helmet adapting system by ALPINA

A convenient rotary knob allows quick and optimum helmet adjustment for all head sizes. The RUNSYSTEM surrounds the back of the head in a particulary comfortable way and guarantees an absolutely perfect fit.

The complete bonding system by ALPINA

Inmolding technology enables complete bonding of the shell and rigid foam by means of a compression-molding process. This results in an extremely stable, yet light-weight helmet offering significantly higher protection against mechanical impact (e.g. crashes involving sharp or pointed objects) compared to adhesion-bonded helmets (which are usually spot-bonded only).

ALPINA has another hot iron in the fire, with their support of Thomas Grandi, in the current Ski World Cup season. The specialist for technical disciplines gave an impressive showing of his strengths last winter. In the giant slalom event in Alta Badia, Italy, he outran his competitors by over half a second to clinch a stunning and sensational victory after two very difficult runs. Not a "one-hit wonder", though, because a week later he repeated his triumph at Flachau, Austria.

The toughest testing requirements for ski helmets are currently imposed by European CE-tests, including impact damping capabilities, effectiveness of the strap system as well as range of vision.

All ALPINA helmets comply with the latest European CE EN 1077 standard.
